Are ”Dziady”
telling “only” a polish story about polish history to polish
spectators? And what happen if we mix John Kennedy, Merlin Monroe and
Martin Luther King into a well-known plot? In his new realisation of
polish great poem Radosław Rychcik is trying to answer this
extraordinary questions by totally turning traditional order of
reading the “Bible of polish literature”. In the theatre we get a
Joker instead of Guślarz and a basketball field instead of cemetery
chapel. We although get a challenging task of interpreting a whole.
For me this realisation is an interesting experiment which is shows
an universal aspects of a poem. If you haven’t watched it yet…
do it as promptly as possible!
